Features

The "Hachihachi shiki kebadate hizumaseki SUPER OSCILLO FUZZ" (88) is a fuzz distortion pedal with it's own internal oscillation system. Using a combination of it's six switches, many different kinds of distortion can be chosen.

However, the main feature of this pedal is the huge variety of oscillations that can be chosen by using any combination of these six switches. The 88 can make an almost unllimited variety of fuzz distortion and oscillation sounds. This is a "SUPER" OSCILLO FUZZ!!

The design motif for this pedal is based on Japanese WW2 "Zero" fighter planes. Our previous pedals are also based on the old naming traditions and designs of Japanese planes. Our previous models are the "Hachi roku" (the 86) and the "Hachi nana" (the 87). The meaning of this pedal? "Hachihachi shiki"(Type 88), "kebadate" (fuzz) "hizumase" (distortion) and "ki" (machine). So the name translated into English means "FUZZ DISTORTION PEDAL TYPE 88".

The special feature of this pedal is a tradition passed down from the "86"; the toggle switch. However with this pedal, there are six! They change the tone and the type of distortion or oscillation sounds created by any combination of the six switches.

From the top; "LEVEL"and "ADJUST". "LEVEL" controls the overall output level when the effect is on. "ADJUST" controls the tone, the distortion level or the pitch of the oscillator. It can change depending upon the selection of the toggle switches.

*In some cases, no sound may be emitted at all.

On the right side, there is an INPUT jack. The sound generated by the pedal will change depending on the input. On the left side, there are jacks for an AC ADAPTER, the OUTPUT and CV PEDALS. The CV PEDAL jack can be connected to a CV pedal for "ADJUST" alterations. If you have a foot CV pedal, you can control the "ADJUST" with your foot.

This pedal has a great distortion sound, but that's just the start. There are six switches that control six oscillators - different combinations produce different sounds but you have to experiment. In some combinations the pedal will start to emit sound without you even doing anything! There is an Adjust knob - this knob puts voltage into the oscillators - all the way down and in most combinations you just get the plain distortion, but as you move it up the distortion gets thicker, and then when you stop playing you get the mad sounds, which is why you need a CV pedal. Plug that in and it bypasses the Adjust knob, so you can pour in as much or as little power as you like and then you get some really interesting sounds. Have a look at the lalweb.com website - they recommend a particular brand of pedal  to use with this pedal.
