Description

Analog Man carries the old Reticon R5106 for MXR micro chorus or micro flanger or DOD.
Features
Reticon R5106 BBD chip for MXR micro chorus or micro flanger or DOD. We have not been successful using this chip to replace the SAD512 chip in the MXR Micro Chorus though, not sure why but they tend to be REALLY noisy in that circuit. All our chips are tested and they worked fine here, so no returns.

5 of 5 Roland RS-09 SAD512 Replacement September 16, 2017
Reviewer: Joshua Lewis from Baltimore, MD United States
I bought four of these to restore a Roland RS-09 with failed SAD512 BBD chips.

They needed the input bias adjusted to work in this circuit.

I added 7kOhm in parallel with the R3160 resistor to bring the DC input offset up to ~7V.

I also removed all four R3168 resistors, which allows the R5106 to set the VBB node voltage internally.

Lastly, I removed all four R3172 resistors as pin 3 is spec'd as No-Connect for the R5106 as opposed to the SAD512.

I was a little skeptical about using these parts, but they turned out to work perfect for this application. Sounds great.  Very satisfied. Would use again!
