I was looking for a Fuzz Face type pedal that does big fuzz sounds but also gets great tones at lower fuzz settings. The folks at Analogman recommended the BART transistors, so I picked up that version of the Sun Face. I absolutely love the sound of it. I can get traditional Fuzz Face sounds into a cranked amp, and can also run the fuzz low to get some rounder fuzz tones as well. With the fuzz knob dimed, rolling down the guitar volume (Fender Strat, Fender Tele, G&L ASAT Junior II) results in a mostly clean, edge of breakup type sounds. Everywhere else on the fuzz knob, you get sparkly clean rolloff. As with all Fuzz Face pedals, the amp you're driving is a big part of the sound, and the Sun Face sounded great into the VOX AC, Orange Rocker, and Marshall Blues Breaker I've tried it with so far. I have no doubt it'll sound great into anything else, too. Overall great experience with Analogman, not just the pedals but the communication as well.
