5 of 5 Big T set February 27, 2024
Reviewer: Brian Robbins from Nobleboro, ME United States
This is my second set of Big Ts.  After falling in love with the Big T bridge pickup I retrofitted my Esquire with years ago, Jim W himself talked me into putting a BT neck pup in ("The hole's right there under the pickguard!") and it was the best thing I could've done: muscular Tele tones to die for.  The latest recipient was my new backup: a Fender Player Tele.  The stock pups weren't bad, to tell the truth ... but with the Big Ts?  More classic Tele tones and a way bigger range of voicings overall.  I'm a believer!

5 of 5 Mike + Jim + Lindy = ;) November 4, 2022
Reviewer: Noah from Los Angeles
Well Mike, what can I say? Once again you have led me on a path to beautiful guitar tone. I have an almost brand new American Original 60s Telecaster Thinline. I absolutely love it. They were too precise in copying the pickups because the bridge pickup is outstanding and the neck one sucks. Picked up the Big T and had my tech install it. DAMN! This pickup smokes! Even my jaded tech had to confess he was going to buy one and replace his favorite and no longer manufactured neck pickup in his Tele. Tremendous work! As always Fralin's work is top notch and your research and efforts were well worth it.

5 of 5 BigT neck is the cure for anemic tele neck sound! November 29, 2020
Reviewer: Marshall Karlsson from Varberg, Sweden
Put BigTs in a ’60 Custom and a ’50s style blackguard.
The BigT completed the bridge pickup wonderfully. I was afraid the middle position quack would suffer, but no problems; it’s still there.
The BigT gives a refreshing spark of life into the otherwise dull and anemic neck position of the pickup switch.
Output is increased, almost comparable with the bridge pickup’s, makes it at last useable without resorting to compressor pedals or high gain on the amp. It still has all the clarity, top end and air you could whish.
The sound resembles that of a Stratocaster’s neck pickup, but coloured of the metal housing, making it still sound like a tele pickup.
It’s easy to balance the sound to the bridge pickup’s.
The sound is now a little sharper in the alder guitar and a little softer in the ash one, just like it should.

This pickup is awesome and I wan’t it on all my non-humbucker telecasters! Highly recommended!

5 of 5 A new and better Tele September 13, 2019
Reviewer: Marcus from Germany
Just got back from a gig playing my 2002 American Tele which I haven't been gigging lately. I play in a funk band, mostly 89 Clapton Strat and ES-335. The Tele has Big-T neck and stock bridge, works just fine. The Big-T isn't louder just bigger, more punch, more musical. Great string separation. Tone to die for. Yellow side KoT low gain and you're in heaven. Big shoutout to Jim, Lindy and Mike! Thank you Mike for personal advice on wiring.

5 of 5 Big T and my transgender Esquire May 11, 2017
Reviewer: BR from Maine
Hey there, Jim & Mike -

Here’s a big thank-you to you both for the Big T neck pickup.

I loved the Big T bridge I tried when it first came out, but I just wasn’t ready back then to do the “transgender” thing and add a neck p/u to my beloved Esquire.

Now I’m wondering why I waited as long as I did.

For one thing, there's plenty of big, full, fatness (somewhat Strat-ish, I guess you could say) - but it delivers the Tele bite we all know and love, as well.

Volume-wise, the Big T neck has some powerful sweetness that shows its manners when you need it to.  Geat dynamics (from smoky purr to nasty snarl if you dig in) and better elocution than Eliza Doolittle.

I actually ended up tamping it down a hair more than I expected to on the height to let the strings ring free  – those magnets are fierce!  And it blends well with the bridge, giving me all kinds of sonic territory to roam now.

The operation was a success.

Many thanks again, guys … you done good.

5 of 5 um, yeah. December 8, 2015

I can't think of a more technically descriptive way to put it, so...
Thank you, very much, to all involved in the design, manufacture, and sale of the Big T neck pup. Thank you, for the alchemy resulting in a level of soul analogous to the exhaust pipe of a '63 Alfa-Romeo being f**ger-banged by Otis Redding's voice.

5 of 5 Finally. September 23, 2015
Reviewer: SP from Bala Cynwyd, PA
I've never been a big fan of telecasters, and always found them limiting, mostly due to mediocre front pickups. After some research I took a chance on the Big T, and it might be one of my favorite pickups of all time. The tone is insane, and I have not found it limiting in any way. It's so clear, crisp and with a fingers or a pick, it's insanely versatile. And the videos don't nearly do this pickup justice. I currently have it wired to a Emerson 4 way Switch paired with a Duncan Antiquity Bridge, and haven't touched another guitar in a month. Best guitar related purchase I've made in a long time.

5 of 5 Tele pickup May 16, 2013
Reviewer: Ben from USA
I installed the Analogman/Weider/Fralin telecaster neck pickup in one of my Cunetto era Nocasters and it is without a doubt the best neck pickup I have or have ever had on one of my guitars. I currently own 7 Custom Shop teles and 14 vintage teles and there is just no comparison... Thanks for the pick ups guys!!!!

5 of 5 Big-T rocks May 5, 2013
Reviewer: Vince from CT
I love the way my Tele sounds now. The new Big-T pickup is awesome. I love how chimey it can be. It works so well with my Don Mare bridge pickup.  I can't imagine ever changing a thing on my tele now. Also I like the 4-way.  I love playing on just the neck pickup now!

The Big-T makes my tele complete.  It's what I've been searching for... The tone quest is over.. The two pickups are so balanced that even the serial and parallel (both) position sound great.

Thanks for everything.

You guys really rock.

5 of 5 Tele P/U March 11, 2013
Reviewer: Mark from New York, United States
Thanks so much for putting out Jim's pickup!  I put it in a '08 Am. Std. Tele and it just transformed the guitar.  It balances perfectly with the stock bridge pickup both in volume and tone.  The two pickups together sound much fuller than the original pair and don't have the nasal midrange that I usually hear.

I had a friend play this guitar and my '54 Tele through a '64 Vibrolux for a sort of blind test. (I bought the amp new in '64 with an EV 15 and bought the guitar used in '65 and had both pickups rewound at the Fender factory and replaced the neck with a rosewood board model.)  The result was that I couldn't tell which guitar was which!  I'm amazed at what a dramatic change this simple swap made.  I've certainly changed pickups before with good result (sometimes), but this is like nothing I've experienced.  You can tell Jim Weider thanks too, and tell him he's a genius!
