Super Thud September 9, 2021 Reviewer: Brett Huhn from Columbia, MD United States   Great usable sound on the whole range of the distortion knob. The Mids knob on the outside is super handy. I can keep the sharp tone this around 9 or 10 o clock,as SD-1 get sharp ;), and use the mids knob as a tone enhancer because that is the size of it.  I guess I could mids out for a Stratocaster, but I don’t know, I’m not a complicated guy. I used it with a few pedals bashing into it and then I tried it the other way bashing it into a Prince of Tone  and I really like that, with the Dist dialed in at a whopping 10pm. My guitars volume used to set the gain of a dimed Supro BK12 works well with this setup. So …. DO IT!!! Yeah Dats Right …. Also this thing has the nostalgia without the disappointment…… Was this review helpful to you?

Awesome organic distortion January 28, 2021 Reviewer: olivier cambier from nogent sur marne, Ile de France France   I recently got this pedal out of curiosity. It's much better than I thought it would be. There is something that bugs me with distortion pedals: often, on long release chords, you can hear some separation between the distorded sound, and the clean sound. Almost like some bitcrush effect that disapear at some point while you can still hear the remaining sustaining clean sound slowly disapearing, making those pedals sound "fake". That's surely not the case with this DS1: on long sustain chords, the sound remains distorted even when it fades. It feels organic, tube-like. It's not some fake distorted layer added to a clean layer of sound. It's a beautiful organic distorted sound. I love it. Awesome overdrive with the drive all the way down, still more gainy than a POT/Tubescreamer at this level of drive. It becomes a great Marshall-type distortion when you crank the gain, with lots of beautiful harmonics when used with humbuckers. So awesome, thanks Mike ! Was this review helpful to you?

Boss DS-1 Pro October 1, 2017 Reviewer: John Noonan from Epping, victoria Australia   For many years I have suffered from G.A.S, changing pedals, trying a multitude of distortion/OD pedals. I recently received my AnalogMan DS1 Pro and after only two weeks I have finally found my tone and sound heaven. Whether stand alone or stacked the modded DS1 is one of the best pedals I have ever used. Like many players, a Boss DS-1 was the first distortion I bought. If only Mike was modding gear back then!!! BOSS DS-1 PRO W/MID RANGE KNOB September 9, 2017 Reviewer: RICHARD SOUTH from VANCOUVER, WA United States   This is one of the best modded ds1 distortion pedals I have ever had, not only is it a great stand alone distortion, but it also makes a great boost/overdrive if placed before preamp, distortion pedals, but also a tone enhancer if placed after distortion pedals. Mikes work is top pro quality. This is my first pedal from mike. I am ready to buy from from Analogman.  The shipping was very fast and the customer service was top notch. Thanks again Mike/Anolgman. Stock to Pro January 9, 2016 Reviewer: Jin J. X from springfield, MO United States   This pedal is replacing another DS 1 type I used.  I liked the other pedal though after a 1 1/2 years the switch failed. Wanted to try this  (modding) route to get the quality and great sounds.   I had "the works" done - DS 1 pro mod, midrange mod, & a toggle with wiring similar to the pedal I used to use.  Frankly the Pro mod is all I needed.  It does exactly what I need which is boost signal without distortion when the gain is rolled off.  Sounds a bit different than the other pedal which is an adjustment though it's in the ballpark and I swear I love it more and more everytime I play it.   The midrange mod is great for versatility though I prefer using the tone knob for mix.  Also the toggle has some cool features: "fizzy" at low gain and almost "fuzzy" when turned up. So there you have it: great sounding, incredibly versatile clean boost that can still get into the "Marshall" territory.  This is a great pedal now and I am appeciative to the folks at Analogman.  Thank you. DS-1 mod January 30, 2014 Reviewer: Anish from CA   I got my DS-1 from you back in June (6 months ago), and long after the honeymoon stage has passed, I can say without a doubt that I truly love this pedal. It took bit of tweaking to sit just right with the rest of my rig, but once I found the sweet range, I have absolutely enjoyed it. The mid-control knob is a blessing! In particular, with bridge humbuckers I find the tone to be just the right blend of aggressive and expressive, smooth and chunky. And even with substantial gain, it is respectably quiet. I use a stereo set up, British voiced on one side and US on the other. The end result when using this pedal, especially when the tubes are pushed a bit, is gigantic. Well done!! DS-1/Pro mod December 17, 2013 Reviewer: Mark from MN   I got my analogman modded DS-1 in the mail today. Words can't describe the difference this has made to my pedalboard. I was using a stock DS-1. This Analogman DS-1/Pro with the mid adjustment knob really is MUCH better. My OB-1 compressor works a lot better and my sonic stomp maximizer has a new life I never knew it had, working with this Analogman DS-1/Pro. I'm running through a Mesa lonestar special for practice and a 50 watt plexi.It works great in front of both of these amps. I am impressed! Thanks Analogman! :-) Was this review helpful to you?
