Analog Man presents the Boss GE7/Pro. The GE-7 has a boost/cut of +/- 15dB per band. The Pro mod is designed to improve clarity and lower the noise issues that the stock GE-7's have. Also available on Bass version GEB-7.
Noise comparison (tone is improved, too!)
Boss GE-7

The GE-7 has seven bands ranging from 100Hz to 6.4kHz, ideal for tweaking guitar sounds, with boost/cut of +/- 15dB per band. This lets you completely control your sound and eliminate unwanted feedback, particularly when connected after a distortion effect.

The Pro mod is designed to improve clarity and lower the noise issues that the stock GE-7's have. This is accomplished by upgrading the chips and tone capacitors. We replace the cheap stock tone capacitors with high quality film capacitors like we use in the rest of our effects. This improves the overall clarity of the pedal.

VOLTAGE : The stock GE-7 can not be run over 15V. We modify it so it will run
fine on 18V, which will give even more clarity and headroom to the pedal.

The stock GE-7 can add some noise if you move the sliders away from center. Even bringing the two lowest sliders DOWN will add noise, try it! Our mod replaces three chips with the King of Tone chip, which is a low noise chip designed for tone controls so it's perfect in this application. These chips take about 40% more power (pedal goes from 16mA to 23mA), so a battery will not
last as long, better to use a power supply. A normal alkaline battery will still last over 15 hours, so you can use batteries if you want.

We also change a bunch of cheap capacitors used for tone control to high grade metal film caps. This lowers noise and improves tone. Thanks to the people on the diystompboxes forum who posted info on modding this pedal. We used their ideas and just tweaked it a bit to make it the best sound for the price. We can modify the old or new GE-7 pedals or sell you a new one with our mod, plus optional LED change.

New for 2012, GEB-7 Bass version mods!

We can now offer the mods on the GEB-7 Bass version. Same price, same improved tone and lower noise.

5 of 5 Analogman GE7 November 4, 2019

This is just what my pedal board needed !  I use it to add girth and clarity or nail the exact over all tone I need on my OD/Distortion pedals as well as just my basic guitar tone going into an amp. It is easy to dial in . Also very  quiet and totally invisible when not engaged . No tone suck at all !  I will be purchasing another in the near future as this is  a "must have " for any of my guitar rigs !

5 of 5 Analogman nailed it with this mod December 23, 2012
Reviewer: R. B. Smith from Denver, CO United States
I received my Boss GE-7 with a pro mod two days ago.  I've been A/Bing against my unmodified GE-7 to be sure what I'm hearing is real.

The only way I can describe the difference is Analogman nailed it with this mod.  I ordered the modded version after struggling with this pedal for over a year.  I'm a bit of an audiophile and I could hear the inherent possibility of what the GE-7 "could" do but couldn't align my suspicion with what it "would" do.  The Analogman mod unlocks the potential of this pedal.

If you don't have this pedal on your board, you should.  Different rooms and different studios will make your guitar, your amp, your pedals, even your entire signal path sound differently.  The GE-7 - with the Analogman mod - allows you tweak your sound to the room or studio's acoustics and truly shine.

Worth every penny and then some.  Nice work, Analogman.  I'm very grateful for what you've brought to my sound.

5 of 5 Improvement of a GE7 modification July 11, 2011
Reviewer: Torben K from Germany
Problems with my stock pedal:
<br> <br>

White noise is very audible if the stock GE7 is put between guitar and plus 15 dB booster.<br><br>Deterioration of the output level below 0 cut the brilliance and the high
frequencies.<br><br>Crackle on the 1st to 5th fret of E and A string and on the entire G string.<br><br>To sum up and to make it short, Analogman's GE-7/Pro EQ modification solved ALL
the reported issues. The pedal is extremely 'quiet' and the positive result is
amazing!<br>A satisfying pedal was turned into a very good and professional
pedal.<br><br>PS: Additionally, I am very fond of the bright green LED…<br><br>

5 of 5 Best EQ pedal out there... August 8, 2010
Reviewer: Jinder from United Kingdom
I first discovered Analogman back in '07 when a guitarist I was collaborating with turned up to the studio with a board featuring a King Of Tone, Beano Boost, Sun Face, Bicomp and several others.

I was blown away by the tone of each pedal, and realised I'd been wasting my time and tone playing stock off-the-shelf mass produced pedals for years.

I'm primarily an acoustic guitarist, but I like to use effects judiciously...not something many people do with acoustic instruments.

I had a stock GE7 at the time, and ordered the GE7/Pro mod to replace it.

The difference is night and day-the /Pro is vastly superior to the stock pedal and is an essential part of my pedalboard...I can't imagine gigging without it.  It adds so much sparkle and breath to my acoustic tone that I've considered buying another one so I can leave this one on all the time, and use the other for a boost for fingerstyle and blues, which is what I primarily use this one for.
