Features

I now offer brand new already modified TS9DX/808 pedals. The modified TS9DX will be the same as a TS-808 when you put it in the TS9 mode. In the other 3 modes the mods will help also, giving them a better, smoother sound.

Note : Mod and option prices are cheaper when you buy the pedal from us, see mod form for prices on sending in your pedal for a mod.

5 of 5 TS-9DX Great for bass February 15, 2015
Reviewer: Mike Brando
When dialed in, I can get surprisingly close to tube-saturated, speaker-overdriven tone.

5 of 5 more info on the review below, it got truncated May 8, 2014

The TS-9DX below was modified with the Silver 808 mod, as well as the Mode Mod and True Bypass Mod.

Before the mods, I did not play the pedal live, for two reasons: 1. when in bypass mode, the pedal made my clean tone sound a bit "mushed" (for lack of a better term), and I play a lot of clean jazzy tones, so I need my clean tone to be as clear and crisp as possible.  2. although I love the tone of a tube screamer, the later models don't allow enough of the raw pick-on-string sound to come through.  They sound a bit too much like an "effect", whereas I like an overdrive that sounds like the tubes are being pushed to the point of breakup, while the pick attack is still very prominent (I LOVE the sound of a pick raking across a string).

before the mods, I would have sold the pedal for $100 or so.  I will not sell the pedal now.  It is mine, and I plan on purchasing another one in the future and selling my Diamond J-Drive (which is a great pedal by the way).

5 of 5 TS9DX Silver/Mode Mods + True Bypass May 7, 2014
Reviewer: Andrew from Saint Simons Island, GA United States
Before the mods, I did not play this pedal live, b/c although the tone was great, the pick attack and overall dynamics sounded a bit "mushed", both on and in bypass. When I received the finished product, the bypassed tone was as expected - true bypass that does not affect my clean tone. However, what I was not expecting was the degree of clarity, transparency, and "bite" that the pedal possessed when on. The modified pedal still has the classic tube screamer tone, but at the same time the tone derived from plugging a guitar straight into a tube amp remained entirely intact. The pick attack is VERY pronounced. The tone has the perfect amount of "bite" to it; I can actually play at a lower volume than before. The clarity on the lower 3 strings is something that you will have to hear to fully appreciate; it is SRV-esque. If you are a tone geek looking for an overdrive that allows you to hear every nuance of every note, look no further, as this is the epitome of the tube screamer sound.

I got the ts-9dx to use as a bass OD/DIST. This thing is sweet!! I am new to playing bass, but ive been a guitar player for 15 years. I have been in sevral bands and i know my way around a distortion pedal! I went with the 808 mod + sliver mod. Did'nt get the mode mods as mike said it was not needed for bass players. The best part is i can use it with my Strat also!  THANX AMan! (Service was great as well)
