Friends pointed me at this pedal because I laughed at phaser sounds I heard. It sounds epic with all of my guitars and has a lush sound when set mild with the wet turned slightly back. The volume setting is very handy and if you have buffers around, this is the ticket to fantastic phasing sound, as far as this doubter is concerned. My Script stays on more than it probably should. One of my favorite pedals now. Thanks AM Crew!! This is greater than I thought it would be …, Epic is the word maybe?

Glorious sounding phaser (And amazing buffer mod)

I bought the Handwired 1974 Vintage Phase 90 from Analogman with these mods/additions: True bypass, buffer, orange LED, internal volume pot. I've had several phasers, but this is hands down the best sounding phaser pedal I've ever heard. So musical. One knob is all you need. I use the Phase 90 first in the chain, and Analogman's buffer has really made a huge impact on my overall sound. I use nine pedals, so I guess a buffer was long overdue. Definitely brought back a lot of sparkly highs. The buffer has basically made my whole sound come alive. Feels like I'm plugging straight into the amp, even with a medium/big-sized pedalboard. So, the Analogman mod. Phase 90 has suddenly become the single most important pedal on my pedalboard. Recommended!

i have tried every phaser ever. mxr evh, small stone w/analogman mods, sub decay, and a load of others, none of them gave me what i was looking for. This one does, i have the boss style power and true bypass mods with a led. Its rock solid and sounds great on any setting. not a bunch of knobs to screw up. It stopped my search. I haven't had a problem with volume drop or increase but i see theirs a mod for this, i'm scared extra knobs will just screw it up. but to each his own. adding a analog man buffer seems like a better compromise.

Captures the tone!

Decided that I needed a phase pedal for some Led Zep covers (In My Time of Dying, etc) and tried out many high-end phase pedals at local shops. Ended up preferring the MXR over pedals costing much more. Since I desired a 9v power option, buying from Analogman was a no-brainer. Granted, I don't engage this pedal very often, but it definitely provides that vintage phase tone when needed.

80's, played strat thru my friend's Phase 90. Was sweet, I told myself someday I'd own one. 2006, bought the block letter one, it never gave me that 'wow' feeling like the vintage. My least favorite. Read reviews of the Script, bought one, plugged it next to the Block & made it sound like a joke. I noticed the Block has more overdrive, less transparent. Script is way more creamy. You can leave on for long periods without compromise of tone. Block cuts higher bell tones of my strat & boosts sound up with artificial swoosh sound/ more noise too. Not the Script! Delivers subtle yet present sweep allowing true tone thru. Block is like a drunken impersonation. Importance? When you start stacking effects you can end up with a mess that sounds nothing like original tone, esp. with the Block. I'd have a decent tone w/ my DOD250 Mojo, & then step on the Block and it sounded crappy. Not the Script! Get it with true bypass, I think makes a difference, & green LED so bright, burns my eyes, LUV IT!
